you are in your right to your opinion on characters or how you feel on the story but don’t confuse your media illiteracy as fact. the endgame was decided before serialisation she posted illustrations of tj before the story was published. yes you can be upset the endgame wasnt the one you wanted and even express that but to act as doyak has deceived you is insanity or being. mad tj is her ‘favourite character’ authors are allowed to have a character they like the most hello??the endgame was never promised.
comments about the author deserving harassment and making horrible or abusive comments about doyak themselves…says a lot about your character. harassing an author about a fictional story which has always been a noir which has dark themes and because the ending was the expected and realistic one with how the story has been played out is ridiculous. (this is not a fiction can never be criticised argument) but if you think harassment is okay maybe take a look at your own morals before you value a fictional characters ones. this chapter clearly occurs after the christmas specials before he tian has fully returned and when mo is in his old apartment. so it is to be assumed he tian sees mo when he can. i can see mo not being as indifferent to his presence the first time he tian returned after those 4/5 years - he was most likely indescribably angry and hurt. mo probably hates he tian for walking back into his life and leaving again even if it is not permanently. so he refuses to trust him again knowing he tian wont stay. but his true feelings are revealed when he is drunk he becomes affectionate - because deep down he wants to be. he is unable to cope with the love he feels for he tian so he attempts to push it out of his mind or hide physical reminders taped up in that box. when in his drunken state mo thinks he is dreaming he tian tells him he is because he won’t be there in the morning. UGH. does this also mean mo regularly dreams about he tian?? just end my misery!!

I absolutely love theories about things, and especially he tian and mo’s way of being intimate… it is very liminal but it’s there: brushing hands, keeping memories, searching for each other, allowing themselves to sleep together (which requires a lot of trust)
he tian has clearly left in chapter 445 and it is presumably the last chapter in the flashback. we are now out of the flashback and in the present timeline with them as adults. (which the christmas specials, other specials and majority of the official art exist in) when the story started it was in the present timeline before the flashback and it suggested they were college students but now years later its very likely old xian has decided for them to already have graduated as they are pursuing careers and are now likely 22+….so he tian has likely been gone for 5 years.

the present timeline was established at the very beginning of the story when jian yi returned. but this is loose in the canon as the plot didn’t have the depth the story does now especially as with the recent chapters old xian has subtlety changed a lot since those first chapters. we have seen glimpses of the present timeline in the specials and official art. the flashback is throughout their second to last year of high school and and up until chapter 445 (excluding special episodes ) the story was in the past. but now we are in the present timeline from chapter 446 onwards.

‘i would of forgotten about you a long time ago’ no matter how many times mo attempts to convince himself he tian means nothing to him he cannot bring himself to forget him no matter how hard he tries.
he kept everything that he tian gave him back then everything in that box was a indirect promise to be together forever so when he tian left he would of felt betrayed and abandoned. the retaping of the box and tape over he tians face and confessional words…i can imagine a drunken mo in a state opening that box mourning his love only to feel shame and cover it up again.
he is cold towards he tian now to protect himself but we know he loves him devastatingly soul consumingly so. sober thoughts were revealed in the christmas chapter after all. it hurt he tian to leave mo back then mo was his muse and he was so in love with him but he probably thought mo didn’t feel the same way so leaving wouldn’t hurt him. in this chapter he is most likely realising that is not true.
now we pray for all the miscommunication and emotional avoidance towards their true feelings to be resolved this year (⌒▽⌒)
