From my understanding, it sounds like he just killed her in the first life and all the other times were not related to him and she just coincidentally kept dying after she got married (not necessarily to him). It’s very obvious it was some sort of accident since her room was locked at the time and he wouldn’t have expected her to have been out there. I just want to unravel the mystery of why. Perhaps for some reason her family sent an assassin and he tried to protect her but her walking about caused him to mistake her? That’s my current theory. I just can’t wait to find out more.

right? Even if he mistook her for a spy sneaking into his room and didn't see her face before attacking, that is traumatic. These authors either have no idea how human beings think and react or they are just dumbing all this down to cater to a younger audience and capitalise on the popularity of the isekai/reincarnation/time reversal genre

I don't like how the important information is so bleck and barely spoken. He only killed her once that first time. The rest she was killed poisoned, Assassinated buy others. She just didn't want to marry him a second time on her 5th round.

But being called a sewer rat, now that would be my main reason not wanting to marry again, cause he only wanted higher status

Pretty sure he called her that because he mistook her for an assassin but I could be wrong.
