They wanted to write a dark romance and didn't make the twists impactful. They showed the demon carrying lil timmy away, but what they should have done is either have the Damon let him burn to death to collect the soul, or show how the demon will cause endless despair once more. They didn't go dark enough to make it worth reading.
These chapters are seriously going nooooo where. 30% of them are SYW staring into space and being indecisive. One of the things I liked most about the novel was precisely that he wasn't shy or hesitant. These chapters literally have 2 conversations and stop in the middle of one.
