I felt so bad for him during the flash back scene, I've dealt with that stuff and the kind of fear it can cause isn't fun.
The surprise at not concinving him with a little bit of cash is so ridiculous, with the abuse Dan was put through its reasonable that money wouldn't convince him.
I was actually worried to read this chapter, I was expecting Kieth to get slammed against a wall and then worse. I'm surprised that isn't how it went.
