I have no idea if I like the plot conceit of this story but I’m along for the ride because I have never in my life encountered a bottom who is so fully dominant and in charge of a romance plot in this particular way.
Like this could be the plot of a f/m kindle unlimited smut romance story (I say as a wandering lesbian) just sub in Ain for the manipulative top, like beat for beat besides the bottoming. Kinda gagged.

The key misunderstandings at play: mc lies to everyone that he is married, and the ml/mc mutually lied about being experienced in BDSM. The ml leans into the latter (and trying against his clear inclinations to otherwise be low maintenance because of his familial trauma from his parents’ acrimonious separation) to try and hold on to a relationship with the mc even while he (thinks) that MC just sees him as an affair. Meanwhile, MC has already fallen for him and doesn’t realize why he’s rebuffing his attempts to get closer (he thinks you’re married/dating other people and he’ll burden you, dipshit!).
Anyway they’re adorable, mutually in love, have discovered latent sadomasochistic tendencies in themselves by accident, and are both idiots.
Oh and separate from BDSM they both lied about getting around more than they do, which is why there’s a lot of slut shaming between these two dipshits who are only sleeping with each other.

guys… this comment section has been out of whack for weeks. Just because Wonwoo is the top doesn’t make him a spy, a mercenary with this kinda training, a competent fighter like the MC. The MC just beat him up strung out on drugs! I think the author is intentionally showing him struggling through finding and helping him. I don’t think most of these comments would be here if Wonwoo were the bottom but the story was otherwise unchanged.
Honestly I think Wonwoo is a pathetic top (affectionate) suffering from bad PR because his design is so similar to many bad ass tops. He’s trying his best!

Two semi-connected thoughts:
- I like the non-romance plot we’re building here about the MC’s rigid, born from necessity responsibility.
- I think there’s something interesting being set up potentially about the MC being outwardly repressed and internally a bit of a freak (I keep remembering that scene with his computer) while the ML is this breezy slut but clearly has something going on internally and has like imprinted on the MC.
I think MC is more so he ended up not following the path his family wanted so he is trying with everything in him to prove that he’s still a good son and he can get somewhere with his choice. I think it’s funny how ML thinks of him as the complete opposite though, like he just has it easy when to us it’s clear MC does not. Definitely repressed. And yeah it connects with the being a dutiful and diligent son because him liking men would of course be a huge problem image wise for his family. And I think he’s only coming out because he’s experiencing stuff now
You’re totally right. And it would be interesting (and fun) if MC if he embraces experimenting with it just completely rocks ML’s world, which we’ve gotten some hints at being possible from ML’s crazy eyed reactions to smaller stuff.
