I think this unfortunately fell into a lot of the same pitfalls that Sign did. While its nice that this one has a better plot, whenever it really starts to get moving it just feels like the author includes put in sex for no reason (maybe to extend the chapter count?). Also in general, I can't feel much of a chemistry between mc and ml. They're funny to watch sometimes (ie, the amusement park date) but most of the time I don't sense any hint of tension between them. Side note: I know other people complained about it and its not that big of a deal but the mc seriously looks like a kid, same as in Sign. This wouldn't be THAT big of a deal but everyone else in the story constantly calls him a child and infantilizes him. Its just kind of weird ATP because, brother, QUIT CALLING HIM CHILD WHILE UR FUCKING HIM.
The sonic gif at the end elevated this from a 4/10 to a 8/10.
I think that despite the auditory hallucinations essentially forcing them together, they in a way represent their own freedom. Only the guardians that choose to protect their heir of their own volition have had those hallucinations. Lau, Alex, and Mali all had those hallucinations but Fu Rin did not (idk about Wei).
Why? Because Fu Rin was essentially emotionally neglected into needing her heir. She never had a choice. The other 3 were never forced into it, they chose to listen to the voices in their head and protect their heir. I'm guessing its not a normal thing to experience considering Miu and other guardians never felt it. But for those tied together by fate, they choose to heed their heir's call of their own volition NOT because the head family forces them too. This is sad tbh because we all know that Lau gets forced into it anyways... makes you think what could have been if Miu never kicked the bucket.

I'm calling it right now, Lian & Wei are going to turn out to be good guys. The author's really good at making me hate characters and then immediately understand them once I see their backstory, so I wonder if the author is going to go with the pure evil route with her or the sympathetic villain route? She's been raised her whole life to follow the head family, so is she doing this whole thing because the head family told her to, or is this her own way of rebelling?
