No, I donn't think so. From what I understood, Hong Kihoon is not meant to be bound to anyone. So I think he didn't have a soulmate. Yeon was meant for that girl. So when Yeon forcefully bound Kihoon, it trapped Kihoon's soul in a curse
No, babe. They weren't supposed to be together because Kihoon is complete as is without having any ties or romantic relationship with anyone. Yeon forced their bond using the thread which created a gap that let the curse seep into Kihoon.
Fast forward, present day, we're not sure if Kihoon is still that kind of person who's complete without needing anyone. We'll need more context on that but based on the red thread app, there's a high possibility that they MIGHT be fated to be together now. But Yeon might've misunderstood it now because of that damn dream he has about their past so... We'll see how this story goes from this point on.

It’s still the same situation in the present day where Kihoon is still a Blazing Red Soul, as we seen his genius athletic talent and all of the serious misfortunes he faced growing up due to being tied to Yeon, and Yeon still has an echo of the red thead to his original soulmate. It seems that the Red Thread Rock will grant the request for a force bind only after death and into their next lives. However, the curse will still remain in their present lives therefore the Red Thread Rock is giving them a chance to lift the curse through the trials they face. We know that the actual trial was to let them see how they became bound and decide if they still want to be together.
I do have another theory that the rumor that you can force a tie by bounding your finger to the one who you want to be bound to with the Red Thread Rock is actually false. It is possible that when the Red Thread was awakened with all the tragedy coming down on Kihoon and Yeon, who were defying fate to be together, and the rock might have granted mercy on them and gave them a chance to be bound together in their next lives via the trials. I hope it gets explained soon.
