I felt a little unsatisfied that Doyoon Kim's mother really leave all behind and never look back. I feel like she at least should known that his own son is already dead...
i agree, i know the point is that doyoon forgives her, but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth thinking about how she left her son in an abusive environment and never reached out/looked for him afterward to see if he was okay.
I want to believe that she believes he's out there living well, only to be devastated when she finally finds out he's long dead. I do want her to grieve him at some point and acknowledge that she sacrificed him to escape the quagmire. Unfortunately, they won't be crossing paths again (and they shouldn't) so even with side stories I don't think we'd see that.
