I am a writer, and this is some excellent work. The MC Baekhee, is a very broken young man, because he's never been given the care he needs to heal from an incredibly traumatic earlier childhood, (cuz realistically he's still a kid at 18). Go Gyeom (the boyfriend) is such a manipulative pos. deliberately torturing/controlling him with his own fears about his father and his future. I wanted to kick his ass in this last couple chapters.
And then there's Yang Il-woo, who tells him, he's strong enough, don't be scared, he can do this. He'll even help if he wants him to. He says you've got this... Instead of preying on his fears to get what he wants, he lifts him, supports him. He CRIES for him, for the pain he's been through. Gods.. it's just so good.
The art is pretty, ngl. The concept and what there is of the story is really good, however it's too short... I wanted.....more...more development. More about why they are so against the idol being WITH someone... I wanted to see the sister lose it when she found out her twin is with her idol... I wanted to see them grow...
I wanted to maybe see a home and trials, cute wedding.. and kids, and so on... this needs more. I liked it, enough that I want more.
So in Korea real idols can't date. The fans are HS and under and are really warped about dating and such. Only a few are fine with it. The scandal culture is huge. So maybe the author took inspo from the real situation over there. I listen to kpop and BTS and we don't talk about them dating. If they date it's super secret. No one knows anything. The Korea press make stuff up and share dating rumors but its all lies.

I like when a toxic af abusive top, is man enough to understand he was an utter monster, and didn't deserve the MC. I like even better when he's man enough to say it out loud, and not only atone...but have the bravery to help the MC even though he knows he doesn't deserve him. And..yanno actually help. And holy grail of watching toxic ML's change, Holy Self Introspection Batman. He realizes he was a POS. wow....
The Mc is kinda...delicate? He was hurt a lot, not just by the ML, and way too forgiving, until he wasn't. I lowkey still wanted him to yell at the ML Smack him a few times, but that wouldn't have done any good on either end yanno? but still Yell at someone? Please? But then MC honestly is just too much of a mess to manage on his own which was definitely a him problem, can we say poor emotional management/life choices? (poor lost drunk puppy) He had his own issues, like being too fucking nice for his own good... but part of the issue is he has NO experience with anything... His niceness is his defense against a world that isn't kind. He's painfully professional, and sheltered. He has nothing but his granny and his job. He must have been a hermit in college y'all. But the ML seriously fucked his head up, because he's a goddamn innocent. He never stops being kind...which in the end is his strength and his ultimate weapon. Even trying to walk away, he's kind.
Only after they both did some healing and growing up, and getting over their dumbassery enough to find some peace... With some nice ugly backstory to explain how the hell the ML got to be such a raging prick... we get fragile truce... and a little sweetness to tantalize, real self discovery ON BOTH SIDES!... slowly getting over mutual emotional constipation. Then near loss. Almost tragedy, ngl I woulda been pissed had they gone the tragedy route. But it gave the ML time and impetus to really evaluate what was actually important, and understanding that everything would be hollow without the MC... No victory would matter ever again.. The result is ..we get The Groveling... really good groveling, painfully self aware ugly crying on his knees, exhausted, begging forgiveness with no expectation of it, and asking him to stay, groveling. The kind an ML that behaved like he did, needs to do. Then... they finally understand that they love each other. (lets out slow breath)
We get the cherry non top of seeing a formerly toxic ML understanding it's actually okay to need and love someone, that it is okay to need help... MC looking at you too, you finally figured that part out, because it a only makes you both stronger. And we have the MC understanding he can stand up for himself, and has to to keep his feet under him. Knowing he can say no.. We get to see a loving, playful, sweet and supportive relationship...whew...
Definitely a yaoi soap opera.. Whoaaaaaa And the art is hot too.. . . Like Really hot.
Glad I stuck with it. Not an easy ride. but...satisfying.
