Yes he liked the highs and thrills that was Tatsumi and his scheming mind brought but like he said them together was like a drug, it felt good and thrilling at the start but leaves you empty after.
Hitoshi on the other hand was so human that Mah felt human with him, after playing god with Tatsumi for over 10 YEARS, the MC's clumsy and simple mindset makes him laugh and probably what got him so hooked(￣∇￣")
