I don't understand the point of dragging this out. Like there has been no progress since the start. At some point they are going to have move the plot forward
Maybe I'm weak or whatever, but with that family, I would have been far away ASAP. It's all not worth it. He knew they were never going to pick him regardless of how good he did. His parents don't care about him as a person, and his relationship are just self-destructive. Just leave it all behind and start over somewhere else.
