3/4 of the story is suffering and trying to understand the characters. When they break through their walls it's not very satisfying. I've read this story twice with a couple years in between. The emotional motivations seem really surface level, and the realization of ML's emotions is so short compared to the lead up. The art is really beautiful, there are some instances where the ML has shocked facials but it is kind of disconnected from the story.
