We have basically Captain America, strong, handsome, kind, loyal to a fault and a mid FMC that breaks up, checks notes, because he wanted too much sex with her? A guy that women kept throwing themselves at and the FMC, "well, you know what? he's too perfect, his dick is too big, he is too successful, he treats me too well and I really need a guy to slap me around and be a jerk to me." But then, this massive daddy issues girl starts falling (make no mistake, the side story was going to be the end of the manhwa, i bet, falls for the young pup that worships the ground she steps in and has been carrying a torch for years and whose balls have barely come down. So, a Captain America man, or a sporty k-pop singer that has been waiting for her forever... pffff... it's non-sensical...
This manga is kinda good but....
The ML is a bit of a douche and the 2FL overcorrects and ends up being a bitch to the 2ML...
The ML knows what he is doing but as soon as his wife gets some he get all jealous and possessive... like "I can but you is different" As if his emotional connection, that he encouraged, fostered then discarded when it became inconvenient was much better...
The 2FL was apparently unable to properly communicate with her husband opting instead for cheating on him and getting delusions that the ML would be her knight on shining armor. Until reality hits and she shows how deranged she really is.
Then we have the 2ML. The man she could've had a serious discussion...
The Author goes out of his way to make the 2ML less sympathetic going as far as making him push the boundaries of consent with his wife. This from the guy who never confronts her when she was having the affair, who forgives her instantly, who tries to become a better father and husband, who accepts her word that he is the father (because, you see, paternity tests don't exist in Japan), who refuses the advances of a very attractive woman. His reward "I'm going to get closure with my AP and I dare you to do anything about it."
The 2ML is there so women can feel empowered by watching a man being bullied by his wife after her "liberating" affair.
This is not the smut version... In this one Iida genuinely loves the cuck and the ending is not the usual NTR slop...
...as there is no way a man would react like that to his wife fucking a close acquaintance. Not saying that they should automatically go berserk on the guy but to keep drinking and leaving her alone with him? Or at the Onsen? Bloody hell, is this a japanese thing? Then again, without the ridiculousness of the story, there wouldn't be any story:
"Swapping? What is wrong with you?"
or
"WTF are you doing in our bed! Get the fuck out of here and don't show your face ever again!"
or
"Can you please tell me why you don't want to have sex with me? We're a married, share your burden. I need to know as this is affecting me as well."
or
"Yesterday was a mistake! I'm calling this crap off as I need to talk to Shu. Go away!"
Had any of these sentences been uttered by the respective characters and the story would end there. It's Josei Drama so it won't win any literary awards, but come on, this degree of dysfunction would prevent any of them to live like proper adults in real life.
I don't blame Shiho for letting herself go with the CEO... But on their bed? That's just disgusting.
So, they both see each other across the street, but only his wife grills him? He doesn't know his co-worker is the wife's cousin and he suspects they might be having an affair (they are not) but he doesn't even ask? I mean he has been finding their relationship strange, but even after seeing them having dinner together he just lowers his head to his wife and doesn't even ask anything? At this point he still hasn't done anything but lying which is also what his wife has been doing.... Nah...
