Read this manwha in three days, it was so refreshing and satisfying to read a historical manwha that doesn’t contain magic, is very realistic in the portrait of war, gender issues and love and expectations!! Also the love story isn’t sugarcoated with unnecessary tropes that romance usually have (they have sex without making it such a big deal, they kiss and hold hands) and also the romance takes a long long time to develop but it’s so realistic that I’m not bothered by it!!! I really enjoyed the character of the emperor since he’s relatable and not just a pretty face like most novels lately, and the portagonist is an amazing person I started looking up to, but she’s also very flawed and result to violence often and I like how they didn’t change that abt her and showed her as a badass.
I remember reading this manwha when I was younger and I didn’t enjoy it when they killed a random girl for no reason because at the time I was searching for something light, but looking back my view was wrong, this is a hidden gem and i grew fond of the character and the cruelty and the realism of this story <3 amazing read thank you
I also read it a long time ago and dropped it because of the princess dying. I'm glad I came back with a greater understanding of how the world of European imperialism functioned and that her death was actually a relevant plot point later on. She wasn't randomly dying at all but rather existed to make a statement about women being passive victims in their lives without agency. It also shows the way the emperor grew later on by allowing women agency rather than following the tradition he used to follow during his conquest. Though he is also flawed
Not worth reading. I read it all and it’s absolute trash
For beginners, this is a masterpiece. But for us with standards, this is indeed a literary trash. The comment below you was right. I should have read the comments before reading this. I thought he/she was just hating( ̄∇ ̄")
