everyone is screaming 100 steps back but not really? it was clear that angst was coming sooner or later to set up the ending where jk and dan end up together and the only way for that to happen is for jk to regret what he’s done to dan and realise he’s in love. also you can tell his anger is displaced compared to season 1, his eyes literally look like he’s about to cry so clearly this isn’t just “i’m angry” it’s more frustration and sadness. he probably already regrets what he just did.
