genuinely what is the pivot plot point, where is the moral of story. what is the message. where is the character development. what am i even reading. I usually wouldn't even mind if there was none of the above if the characters were somewhat likable but no one is likable here other than the side character
A few months ago my friend asked me for some manga recommendations. I was a bit of a bitch and gave him yaoi manga as a prank. (and mind you it was the ones with the real SMEXY scene) He was pissed but then he got into it because they actually have a pretty good plotline. Here's the real problem. Because of the yaoi recommendations I gave he discovers that he is attracted to the same sex. I was glad for him but he wasn't thrilled. His family is the up tight full lawyer and docter asian family. So they weren't supportive of the LGBTQ+ community. He said that i should have never given him the yaoi books so that he would have never found out his prefrences. I feel terrible that such a small prank changed a persons life. He has to hide constantly due to his family beliefs. Unsure of what to do, but really all I can do is just stand by his side.
OK FIRST OF ALL. I love you for doing that prank. Also a point he cant blame you because sooner or later he’s gonna have to realize that hes gay. Im a sense you were the trigger. Also if we’re talking about this, genetically speaking (dont know what that mean it sounds cool), one factor to determine the preferences of sex woul be through hereditary. Sooooo, theres a possibility that one of his family is also gay. Another thing, the reason why he cant blame you it’s because reading manga doesnt really determine a persons sex preferences, yea we get curious when we suddenly see something that is unsual for us, but really IT DOESNT DO ANYTHING. Ok maybe it does for some people, but you know it just means that theyre destined to be well gay. Also the very last thing is, he couldve stopped reading. Simple as that.
But lets just really hope that nothing bad happens. So no, none of this is your fault because no matter what happens, even if you have never showed him your list of mangas, it’ll still happen. He’ll still realize he’s kind of gay. I hope you that you wont beat yourself up for this
It was a great prank, great reaction. bless that poor boy and his future. I just hope that his family won't try to kill him, he want's to get out but he might lose his family altogether
