Literally any author can talk about these things whenever they want. It's ridiculous to think that you can't talk about real-life issues in fiction.
Just so you know, fiction isn't just made up stuff. It can also be a critique of how reality can change through it, or an analogy of who we are. These topics are sensitive, but they're being talked about in the media because they're part of society. This isn't a "gotcha" moment.
The problem wasn't that Jaxx decided to make a story about slavery, but how she did it. She openly admitted that she hadn't prepared for it, and it looked like it was going to be a total disaster.

At all! Juheon is a whole other level of cruel. Who is this character? Even when he discovered Dohu's initial intentions, he was never cruel. He set boundaries and left. But now he is assaulting him? I know this may not be the interpretation the author intended, but it's hard not to think so.

You know that the writing is good asf when both points of views are totally valid, and most in importantly... A natural conclusion for the characters!!! Yeongwoon has struggled with his mental health for years, leading to an alcohol addiction and reliance on medication. After a decade of pain and struggles, he finally chooses to stay with Seoin instead of reopening old wounds that nearly ruined his life. Why would he out of all people choose to face that trauma AGAIN? Meanwhile, Seoin has just recently uncovered painful family secrets after many years of antagonizing Yeongwoon, even mistreating and torturing him since they reconnected. He JUST learned something that apparently everyone knew BUT him! Not even having enough time to process what happened! It doesn't matter that it has been 10 years or that Yeongwoon is fine with it... How can he forgive himself?!! How can he forgive his family?! This story is just so so peak it's crazy
Fck I almost manifested Eunhyuk's painful end. My bad, I didn't hate him enough apparently. Anyway, it seems like this story is about to end any minute now, and it's sad to see how much potential it had at the beginning and how shallow it turned out to be.
It's crazy to realize that almost all of the flashbacks related to Yeongwoon and him, from Taegu's point of view, weren't just context, but the story of how he developed feelings for someone who was in high school when he first met him and always saw him as part of his family (or, at least, as a protective figure)
It's crazy how I find many aspects of the story unbearable, and yet I'm so insanely invested in this lmaoooo
