But I will never understand women/men simping after idols. simping is fine...to a healthy degree but using money is...just too much. Especially women...they spend too much money on those idols, all their savings and too emotional over those men who might even making fun of fans behind their backs (after all, most are men and you know how most men are). As someone who does have a group that I stan, I agree with you to a certain degree. Some just do it over the top. So much so they almost worship them and drop them like flies when a something happens, as idols are not humans.
I personally see idols as part of my younger years I will reminisce with.
As expected, I got a lot of thumb down lol. But yeah, I understand. I feel the same as they are a part of childhood bec I used to be first gen Stan too. But my bias involved in sexual and abusive cases and my views on them changed a lot. No longer as idols who are innocent (they are given character to make before fans) but just... Men. Men in the misogynistic country that is Korea. And my attraction/adoration to those idols just...go burst.
I mean happened to me too. Mine's BigBang 2nd gen. Ri is not my bias but BB was hanging by a thread with the scandal he got involved in because, whether he was guilty, innocent or complicit, he and BB were definitely used by the media to cover up a bigger problem. But regardless of scandals they got themselves into, there are scandals that were made to be one even if they are just being human, normal human. Like dating, some mishap, even first time offender that was just minimal but media made big then fans turned to haters and swarmed. Their clothing, their singing, their dancing etc., everything is ridiculously nitpicked.
I would understand cases like Ri or your former bias, but most of the times it's mundane things that don't need to be nitpicked.
And there's the big spenders. They spend on every single thing/event than crash their world when their idol is not perfect. So stupid. People, even idols are not perfect.
