The MC is kinda stubborn and doesn't want to use the safe word bc he doesn't want to be looked down on. I think the seme is trying to show him that it can be bad if he doesn't use the safe word when needed. But then again idk I'll see how the story pans out. So far this has come pretty close to healthy BDSM compare to others I I've read
