I think nutritional it's very similar but breast milk does have live immune cells that are passed on and a pretty big deal in terms of early immunity before baby builds up their own. It's also really cool but the contents of breast milk adapt to baby's nutritional needs based off freed back from their saliva. So there's some important distinctions but both are good. Science is all the time working to make better formulas that kind bridge this gap.

i did read an article like 10 years ago that said breast milk is better. Like it didn't say breast milk is better than formula per se, but it did say something about the physical touch and the whole process make a better experience for the baby's growth if i remember correctly. Nonetheless, people shouldn't shame mothers who choose to feed their child formula if she can't supply breast milk.

Mothers can pass their immunity to infectious diseases such as colds a pond flus through their breast milk. That's why it's encouraged to breastfeed babies over powdered milk if possible because powdered milk doesn't provide that immunity.

What I got from this chapter is what I see with a lot of babies. Some have preferences. Like I have two cousins who don't like breast milk at all, and only drink formula milk. My mom said my brother liked to drink both breast and formula, while I only liked to drink breast milk. I don't think this chapter was trying to shame anyone, just informing how kids have preferences even at a young age, and some might like a certain milk over another milk.

Although all the information given so far is very beneficial to know, and I'm thankful in knowing this. But to give comfort to the mind, I think the chapter can be interpreted in another way in which it's about children and their preferences.

yeah, I don't think the chapter was shaming mothers who don't feed their kids breast milk. From my own interpretation, it just talked about one of the difficulties when raising a child. It's like when you have children, and one likes to eat everything, while the other is picky as hell. This is like that but with milk, one's okay with both breast milk and formula while the other can only tolerate breast milk. I have read this webtoon like 4 times, and if my memory serves me right, it never shamed hosik for not feeding hoyeon breast milk. It just said that hosik wanted to feed hoyeon formula but he doesn't want it.

Anyway, Idk the original comment's interpretation of this chapter, but i don't think he/she thinks it's like that either. He/she probably just want to expand on the thoughts of fomular vs breast milk since it is mentioned in the chapter.

Research has shown this, but the studies also had some large method errors that needed to be addressed. For example, in most circumstances research papers the idea that babies get their nutritional needs based on the breast milk comes from studies that take a sample of babies and moms who breast feed versus formula feed. From that they compare which babies will have health problems, etc. what they don’t compare or even bother to explain is that often times babies who are formula feed come from a lower class family. Think about it or they have health problems. These things would be crucial for babies, as it direct relates to their own problems. I get the point that your making, and I do agree that young infants need the mothers milk if possible. I’m a bit skeptical, as the research papers to back it up has flaws.

Also my point from the very beginning is that breast milk and formula are both fine the use. I often hear the opposite that one is better than the other. But my point is that some parents, adopted, single fathers, single mothers cannot create the milk necessary for the child so they rely on formula. People get all anti-formula on me, but my point is that it’s a shitty feeling for parents who rely on this to have them bashed. They cannot help it.

But that also goes for any physical touches. It’s not because the mother is supplying food, is because she’s constantly hugging the baby to feed it. If a formula parents were to cradle the baby when they feed them, they’re getting there same emotional value.
