Yeahh so my point stands, it's the apocalypse and that's why this kind of thing works. People need some semblance of order or else they'd be just like the outside where people are mindlessly killing each other. Not trying to defend him either, he is fucked in the head... but if u read this chapter they lit say they stay because he keeps things in order with how he is and theyre literally desperate to keep him alive for that same reason too

the whole point of an apocalyptic setting is how bad people can become when the resources are low. Teach is like us, an spectator. (he's an outsider) obviously he's gonna freak out. It's not about "understanding", is about being able to difference between good and bad. the dude just wanted to save his son, one of the FEW CHILDREN LEFT. If they don't care about them, how the hell that village is going to survive?
