Is there a such thing a plagiarism in the manga/ webtoon world..don't get me wrong i love isekai but how many idiot prince's have I read annulling their engagement for some idiot girl with big eyes who is in fact the actual villainess thinking she's the protagonist and after "reincarnation".... these stories all the same tbh... my absolute favorite still remains "doctor elise" for an isekai genre....I'm just curious if manga/webtoon's get copyrighted for the EXACT SAME story

Ex: villainess gets reincarnated after big eyed bimbo steals the prince to end up with a better prince??
Yet I've read... literally every isekai on here lmfaoo

This plot has been around for almost 2 decades.. but with the "heroine's" PoV.
Either in a book, comic, manga and otome games.

    So it's not technically plagiarism.
There are alot of overused plots like this.
It just seems like it was copied from alot of other writers since this kind of plot has been getting fame in the past year.

Oh I know I've been reading manga for over 10 years but lately although I do love isekai it just seems like there has been an explosive amount of the same exact story line for example look at the two manga's named

"i'm a Villainous Daughter, so I’m going to keep the Last Boss" and
"I was Told to Relinquish My Fiance to My Little Sister, and the Greatest Dragon Took a Liking to Me and Unbelievably Took Over the Kingdom"

These stories are basically the exact Same... I absolutely love looking at the POV of the villainess bc I could never stand reading the "innocent wide eyed" protagonist who got a random harem of men while being a complete idiot... I just feel like this burst of similar or copy past manga is very annoying bc we could get the villainess but in different situations and plotlines..I love having badass females. But that's just me ranting hoping to find someone to relate with.

There'll be a plot that'll be unique in the future, just wait.

Since alot of good Isekai Villainness novels hasn't been appproved of a manga adapation yet :)

Villainous daughter and greatest dragon are completely different believe it or not. The only similar thing they got going on is the "dragon" last boss love interest(except villainous daughter bagged herself a demon Lord) and that villainous is actually a good story while Greatest dragon(I'm too lazy to write the whole name) turns into a half assed political drama with the ML disappearing and leaving all the drama for MC to handle. Also both MCs are incomparable, one is actually smart and level headed while the other just went ahead n committed suicide. Also isn't greatest dragon not an isekai? I don't remember any reincarnation or transportation thing. It's just plain old fantasy shoujo.

Yeah it isnt an isekai but follows similar attributes to the villainess trope but it's very addicting. It's in fact a favorite of mine but was curious as to why so many of this type of manga appeared and trended

But I'm grateful for all the replies clearing up my concerns / questions on this topic.

True and no probs I would've thought it was an isekai as well lol. I read way too many.

I think it's also that this seems especially "suddenly everywhere" to English readers because the trend catches on with the readers, therefore LOTS of translators start choosing those stories to translate all around the same time (either because they're enjoying the trend themselves or because there's demand for them).

I imagine that if we were in Japan, although there'd still be a lot of them, it'd probably feel that their publication is more spread out and that there are lots of alternatives also being published.
