i've not read this but i keep seeing people say they're more than friends but less than lovers and it makes me wonder if they're queerplatonic. yes, they're cishet, but it's queer because it goes against societal norms about relationships. they're in a committed relationship that's not really romantic in nature but it goes so much deeper than a friendship... there's not really any rules in queerplatonic relationships though because it leans more on the needs of both the people in the relationship. just asking by the way, i want to read it because of what people say and how it reminds me of qpr relationships. i'm reading it regardless of if they're in one or not by the way! they look cute.
If you haven't already started reading it by now, I definitely think you should!!!
It's hard to say what their relationship really is because, one, the story isn't finished yet, and two, it's written in a more episodic like fashion. It's hard to see the timeline in their relationship or how long they've been around eachother (except the fact that her hair gains length). I've never heard of the term "queerplatonic" so I had to look it up and compare it to the description of "platonic". "queerplatonic's" description is... "a committed, intimate connection that is non-romantic by nature but goes beyond the traditional boundaries of a standard friendship".
"Platonic's" description is..."a close relationship or affection that shares deep emotional intimacy without any romantic or sexual involvement".
After reading and pondering these different types of relationships, I think that our main couple is just platonic. Though to be perfectly honest, the description for "queerplatonic" is very similar to "platonic". Aside from the mention of "goes beyond the traditional boundaries of a standard friendship" but I've heard and read platonic being described that way aswell.
SORRY THIS TURNED INTO A HUGE RABBIT HOLE! READ THE BOOK ITS GOOD
