I read (1) Jinx bc of curiosity and the smut, (2) Passion for the possessive nature of the seme, (3) Low Tide in Twilight bc everyone was raving about the redemption arc.

But honestly, it's very hard for me to forgive or act like non of that abuse didn't happen so it still doesn't give the same satisfaction as a well written green flag manhwas.

as long as those manhwas fit in psychological horror like the unchanged man or killing stalking idm i thought the bad life would be like that too but the mc is getting dumber and dumber?? i havent read non zero sum but jaekyung from jinx is just straight up an asshole i thought he was doing better but bro kept disappointing me

I read Jinx to make fun of Jaegay. I haven't read the others and I don't plan to read the lot of the popular toxic stories on here. But honestly with any toxic problematic story on here, I wouldn't have much an issue if people just stopped saying it's such "couple's goals" or "it's so romantic"or calling it "green" or some shit when it's clearly an abusive relationship. The issue with a lot of this discussion is purely because people keep pushing for those types of relationships as "normal" when it's not supposed to be. And while many people know it is problematic and still enjoy it, the amount of people I've seen completely try to defend certain behaviors because "that's so cute" but it's just a guy love bombing his victim, is far too many to count.

People like to say fiction doesn't affect reality, but the reality is so many of these problematic enjoyers already don't believe certain behaviors is bad, and THAT is the affect on reality that they don't see. They can't read the label from inside the bottle, unfortunately.

also another controversial asf manhwa is missing love : the marrying man i’ve never seen such divided opinions on manhwa esp on bato. some say it’s fetishizing r*pe and the other say uke is such power bottom lmaoo it’s rlly interesting

This right here... I know a lot of teenagers that read stuff like this while their brains are still forming. The normalization of problematic manhwas makes me a bit worried for those who haven't experienced healthy relationships yet.

honestly i thought missing love was very well written i read it a while ago and can't remember fully but i don't belive the author was trying to fetishise it i belive the readers are the ones who are, i think the manhwa shows truly how fucked up the uke's situation was but one thing i do rember liking about it im not sure if the author did it all the time but the r*pe scenes were protrayed differently to the consenual scenes between the mc and actual ml (there was no rpe between them at all) if i remeber correctly the art during the rpe scenes made it less fetishising like ive noticed with other works like jinx they make even the rpe scenes 'goonable' (i dont goon to yaoi but alot of people do, what i mean by this is jinx non con scenes try to make it look sexy and nice) idk if that made sense but with missing love it was dark kinda blurry and through the art it showed how brutal and not fetishising it was idk if that makes any sense but if you read it you might get what i mean. I think more authors should do that if they are going to include non con using their art to show how bad it is. (also excuse my terrible spelling)

yea I’ve read it and I totally get your point. Manhwas need to start addressing r*pe as r*pe and missing love did that really well. That’s why as much as it was uncomfortable to read (as it should be) the whole manhwa was a good read. The author ended it really nicely. I think another manhwa called bones and petals also didn’t romanticize r*pe bc in later chapters, uke directly addressed to seme about it and made him apologize. It should be like that tbh. We may be adults rn and know what’s wrong from right but i know damn well there are lots of minors also reading it. In fact, I started reading yaoi around 13 and I didn’t romanticize it but that kinda sex became a norm in my head. If my mom didn’t give me proper sex education and about consent, I’d probably still think like that. It’s so dangerous.
