For the most part during their relationship it was healthy and they communicated so I liked it- HOWEVER… there was a lot of times (mostly in the beginning) it felt very rapey and weird.. like when that one guy and tomo met up and tomo was like “no actually I’m going home” but he dragged him into a room anyway? And when shizume showed up he made an excuse to take him away and tomo was crying because he didn’t wanna do it… ugh.. Tomo deserves better honestly, I feel like a lot of things that happened to him were overlooked or undermined and I don’t like it.
I think that it’s very hard for someone who’s out to date someone who’s closeted. I think they do talk about it well in this manga, but I also believe that sometimes it is unfair to the person who is out. While the closeted person is also making an effort and everything the person who is out will be subject to rejection from their partner for who they are. Seeing tomo tear up because shizume didn’t want to hold hands with him (even tho they were alone?) really hurt my heart.. I completely understand shizume and everyone else who is closeted, however I think it’s kind of cruel to date someone who is out and proud and force this kind of rejection on them… if you and your partner can make it work and are happy and healthy even if one of you is closeted that’s amazing!! But I personally have a belief that for the health and happiness of both people (unless they can make it work and be happy like tomo and shizume) someone who is out and someone who is closeted should not be in a relationship.

Dude chapter 4 had me crying so hard… Katsumi deserves so much better.. the internationalized homophia is relatable and really heartbreaking… I hope both of the guys who hurt him die a painful death!! May he and Maki be happy together forever <3
