Either the brides gonna end up having a sister and yk what will happen, or she'll be accepting and the brother gets his act together somehow and the issue actually ends up being something happening with the ml after the wedding.

How can he still tell him hes family after he was talking about some "i should've tried my luck if you liked guys" he was deadass molested bro guilt only goes so far

Angel July 29, 2026 9:14 pm

Its kind of nice to see that his friends care about him so much, i hope that ends up being something that pulls him out of that slump bc as he is nanjo would only feel pity if he ends up in a hospital after an attempt at best. Worst case scenario itd drive him further away, there'd be no love there. He needs to recollect himself and then come back if this is gonna work

Angel July 25, 2026 11:31 pm

Hes so in love with him lmfao I love these tropes theyre both dumb

I read this just out of curiosity and oh my fycking god its so much worse than I thought it'd be, why would you???what the fuck went through their head writing about a time like this like its some buzzy plot setting for a master and a slave im fucking disgusted beyond words holy shit

I just read the first chapter, and didn't find anything wrong with it. Haven't we seen master x slave stories before tho? I'm sorry If I'm being ignorant, but could someone explain the situation for me? Apparently it has something to do with America and its history

Master x Slave stories are already weird imo. And yes it does have to do with US history and since im an American im glad you asked. The 1860s are extremely downplayed in the horrible chapter I just read, POC were tortured not just enslaved. In the end of the chp MC dismissed the enslaved people he was gonna buy along with the land and freed them sure, but he only bc he felt empathy after losing his own family. You could also argue that the mc wasnt shown to be explicity racist, but that doesnt matter. EVERY SINGLE white person was either an offender, a bystander, or an enabler. Because racism was that normal. Even if the author didnt intend for him to be racist, it just makes them look ignorant of what theyre writing about which they were. Theres sources that report masters raping their slaves, and killing their newborns once they gave birth. Enslaved people were tortured in any way you could think of. It was common for white people to have slaves, the MCs house resembles that of a plantation. Even after slavery was made illegal and former slaves were "free", Jim Crow laws were implemented and it forbade them from having and kind of basic human rights. Sundown towns were created as well, black people couldnt even be out at night in those towns bc theyd be killed where they were standing. So writing about a time like the 1860s as if they were simply times of war and making the main character, whos a rich white guy (literally the most privileged group of people) the pitiful one is already stupid, but to make the guy hes supposed to get with call himself his slave as if it were some hot role-play is beyond digusting. Its vile and disrespectful. Not to mention i can tell from his weird ass stereotypical design hes supposed to be native American, and they were literally colonized AND ENSLAVED so brutually that their population was cut down by more than half. Languages and cultures were just about completely erased. So why would you EVER think its a good idea to make it a master x slave dynamic????? What happened back then still affects this country today in the form of generational trauma and passed down racist ideologies. That goes to show how BAD things were during that time because it still affects us more than 100 years later. Its not something you use as a plot setting for a fucking yaoi. I could delve deeper but I already wrote too much as is. I understand how you could end up being ignorant esp if you arent from here bc alot of what went down is purposely hidden or not taught even to us. What I told you is honestly surface level. So what im saying is that if youre gonna write anything about this time, you dont make the white guy seem like the poor sad one who lost everything to the war, because trust me they didn't lose anything compared to the people that were tortured for much longer than theyve been "free".

Whoops I got a detail wrong, but honestly the correct detail is worse. His family OWNED the land he was talking about along with the slaves. Making the mc seem like some saint for releasing them is weird as fuck, like seeing them as people and not slaves isn't the bare minimum.

No his family and him are different people. So that’s just how the man is. The story did not try to make it as if he is the most perfect man in the world. And “seeing the slaves as people is the bare minimum”.. I mean I don’t know how he could’ve done that any differently other than let them be free. Like genuine question, what could he have done to make you not think that? He was literally fighting for the rights of the slaves in the first place..

Its not much about what he did, because he isn't real. Its about the author writing about it as if he were "one of the good ones" for doing so. His family and him are family, even if they are different people that doesnt meant he was exempt from most likely being raised in a family that owned slaves and normalized the way they were treat3d throughout his life. People are products of their environments, you dont just brush that off for the sake of making your master x Slave story more palatable to people, its not something that should be written about in such an unserious and ignorant manner in the first place. Ofc the story didn't make him seem perfect, he

He was a tool of war, hes killed many people. Making an entirely fake political figure is already pretty weird but honestly not unheard of, Im only iffy about it because of the context. Its not just about the character, its about the authors obvious ignorance. There is former enslaved people, descendants of slaves, who are very much alive and affected by what happened over a hundred years ago, not to mention native people who are still given plots of land that are constantly being destroyed by corporations and who are still facing disrespect and racism. Imagine how you would feel if you saw your oppressed depicted as a sad misunderstood man who lost his family, and watching one of your people be written as someone who is into the concept of being a slave. Sounds fucking insane right? Excuse my typos and me cutting off the previous paragraph, my hands are kind of shaky. I hope you get where im coming from though.

Don’t worry about the cut off, I do get where your coming from and I do mostly agree to some extent.. (about the ignorance and stuff like that) but even if he was most likely from a family that owned slaves, white men freeing their slaves are not unheard of, really rare though, but the story was set after the Civil war - meaning that they were already supposed to be free. ( but the part really did not matter because most of them didn’t have any money to go anywhere in the first place and still worked while earning really low wages…) Also it was the first chapter, we didnt really got the context and everything so it being cut off was a bit disappointing. And technically they were some of the “good white men” in history because if their wasn’t they would really be fighting for slaves rights in the first place and slavery would have went on for much longer, although there was ulterior motives for fighting against the confederates, the main thing was that it was horrific, goes against human rights and a sin against god. So basically there had to be good whites or we would not have been where we are now, the story was depicting that, it wasn’t extremely unrealistic

We arent where we are now because of good white people. I see what youre saying, and I understand why you think that way, but the reason we're here is because of the black and brown people that fought and died for their right to live. White people deserve no credit for that, not even the "good ones". The only instance where it would be acceptable to say a white person might actually be in a position to understand the struggle of being anything but white is if they grew up or were raised with POC. And even then they won't fully understand. I'll have you know that even those who were in support of abolishing slavery still had numerous flaws in their logic. Slaves were not freed because slavery was made illegal, they just found loop holes to continue making them work for nothing at all. The Jim Crow laws were made so they could keep former slaves "in line" so as to not allow them to surpass white people. Even if there was white people who freed their slaves it probably wasnt out of the goodness of their heart because if it was then they wouldn't have had them, someone like the mc who was born into it without a choice would still have that entitled and racist ideology that allows them to think its okay to enslave anyone. The slaves who were "freed" were either arrested for little to no reason and forced to work under the pretense of serving jail time, or killed in a sundown town. Christian churches taught that slavery was okay because black people were cursed to be servants and white people were the superior race, god was the excuse for their cruelty, not their source of kindness. We are not where we are today because of "good white people". There isn't any, there is only people who either believe in having the right to live no matter your race, and those who dont. That is why its not okay to make a character like that and paint them in a way that makes the white rich man seem like the one who lost everything to the war, because like I said he didn't lose anything compared to the children born into slavery and subjected to torture and generational trauma and violence that has lasted decades. The white man's misery will end when he finds his place in the world curated perfectly for their existence and he will die peacefully. Anyone else's will end only once the oppression caused by the white man is gone for good and we are a LONG LONG way from that. Its is so much deeper than what were taught in school, so I urge you to go look into it yourself. However bad you think it is, its worse. I dont blame you because im well aware of how this education system has failed us for the sake of hiding the truth of what happened over and over. But i do think this story did good to get cut off, I won't be changing my mind on that.

I think any other character would make it a bit messier since they're both kind of loners socially especially in high school, nobody knows them better than they know each other. However a short section of dohuns older brothers perspective would def give us some better insight on dohuns character and his surroundings so that would be interesting to see, what I want most is a completely unbiased 3rd person perspective which would just be the author telling exactly what happened so I could further analyze dohun and yuwons difference in perspective however that would make it too easy and take away the unique aspect that makes this manhwa as great as it is, I prefer the struggle honestly (⌒▽⌒)

Im thinking that's their inability to love each other healthily, its not that they dont want to address it but they dont even think to. They never had a normal social life or a normal family, their examples of love were never great or kind of nonexistent..that deficiency has to be addressed early or else it'll ruin your development. It makes sense why both of them have such a twisted world view even if ita in different ways. Yuwons is more victimish and Dohuns is too simple, they both have no emotional intelligence. Not to mention how Dohun let's himself be misunderstood and doesnt care for it as long as yuwon stays by his side letting the idea of fate drive his actions instead of just the fact that he loves him which ends up making it ten times worse. Their actions are unfortunately just a reflection of their surroundings and if nothing changes this story is gonna end with both of them dying or worse. Unless they undergo some kind of hashtag healing which is what I really really foolishly hope for

I wonder who’d be an unbiased 3rd person in this case if it end up being us the audience I’ll pull my hair out. I
will say I love the use of visual storytelling! I feel like a third person will reveal that dohun was a bystander besides the time he fell down the stairs in Yuwon’s place. Which I feel was also a metaphor in itself.
