That's the only chapter we caught up with the raw

The official is on bomtoon and this is just recently launched as a new manhwa, we only have a single chapter so far

yeah I realised but I saw a couple ppls talk about what happened in the first chapter but with context that made it seem like more chaps were out but if it was just good ol' fashioned comprehension skills

I don't think you get just how hard and painstakingly time-consuming it is to translate a novel, and then it's even harder to make it enjoyable and flow for readers! But worry not, iirc the chapters will become free 4 weeks after their initial upload date. You just have to wait patiently ;) Or find another BL novel to binge on first like I am

oh apologies I didn't know about them becoming free and I do understand how strenuous translation is to some degree I just thought that 60+ dollars including side stories felt excessive but regardless I'm new to the novel reading space any recommendations for a degen like me

okay i may be talking out of my ass but most korean translations is machine or ai translated slop (if they’re out here posting multiple chapters at a time it’s a big red flag) and i know we’re all down here in the pit together reading illegal translations but profiting off of pirated work (again for non human translated garbage) feels like another level of degeneracy - it’s still stupid

the level of translation is quite good (I read the free chapters) so I understand a paywall to some extent but I did the math and there's a total of 48 paywalled chapters which cost like $1.5 each which totals to $72 dollars which is wayyy more than I'd be willing to pay for a published translation of a novel let alone one where the original author is making nothing off it. Even MTLs only paywalls like the newly released stuff not literally the entire thing. I'm not sure if the weekly free chapter thing is right either but if it is the whole thing is gonna be available on New year's eve

Ah yea, they changed it to two free chapters unlocked every week. Just think of it like waiting for an update for an ongoing webtoon (except better, cuz you get two chapters instead of one) And let's be real, how many people would pay that? I'm sure not many, so in a way, they're trying to get some bit of compensation from the few people who do, to offset the thousands of others like us who wait for the chapters to become free. A well done translation is a skill in itself, plus, it's not like it's just one person working on it either. There are editors and beta readers involved too. $1.50 for several hours of time is hardly anything. (Also you have to factor in some people who may buy... And then share...)

Not sure about others but this one isn't machine translated. It's one of the more well done translations, and that's saying something cuz I've read countless numbers of novels in the past!

Yeeee exactly, it’s like people are too used to reading bls where the mc’s bestie is actually a nice guy that gets overlooked for the fuckboy asshole ml so they automatically look at this with that lense too but here he’s not a bestie on equal terms to each other, he has ulterior motives and acts like a third parent or smth, and this whole beating up situation it’s like bro WHO gave you the right to meddle this much in a whole ass adult’s personal life choices that he’d even feel like he has to fear upsetting you
