Nobody said author's aren't allowed to write sexual assault.. They just said it shouldn't be normalized, which is right btw. Thinking that something being "HOT AND SEXY" should be enough reason for it to be normalized is so dumb. Thing about the internet is that you can write whatever you want, but that doesn't mean that you'll be free from criticism.

And as you said, it's fiction. anything and everything could be used as a plot device! no matter how many people dislike something it's not going to stop it.
