Been reading on this website for years but only recently made an account lol. ────୨ৎ──── About me (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶): -Love a well-written story with interesting and deep characters. -Enemies/rivals to luvers is my fav, especially in a school life setting -Love a bit of angst as long as it's well balanced and not too dramatic ────୨ৎ──── Yap sesh: I think the reason I gravitate toward BL so much is that, in a lot of straight media, relationships between men and women often feel imbalanced. I don’t really enjoy portrayals where the woman is submissive and the man is dominant in ways that conform to traditional gender stereotypes. However, through the genre of BL, we get to see softer and more emotional sides to male characters written through a feminine gaze. This is also a large reason as to why I don't like the seme/uke stereotypes in yaoi as they can end up reproducing heteronormative dynamics found in straight media. So anyways yes, I like seeing stories that explore more emotionally vulnerable sides to men that mainstream media often lacks.
