basically Mika is like Sukuna and Yuji and Sukuna is the Black Sea. He wants to kill everyone except the Kannagi bc he thinks everyone on the island, especially the nobles and monastery, are evil and dumb. The Black Sea showed him the memories of every single Kannagi before he died and got his body taken over. It showed Kannagis getting abused, raped, taken advantage of through money and religion, etc. basically every single bad and illegal thing u can think of. This was bc they were resilient and strong while also having the ability to see the future (and past) through the black sea, but only bits at a time. They were taken advantage of bc of this during war time and many Kannagis died and were abused.
Oh also Alto is like the Black Sea Prince or wtv so i think he has the power to control the Black Sea but he doesn't know how to yet or smth. Pretty sure this is also y he can make the black parts of Elvas body fade... maybe...? i haven't read this in a while so don't quote me on this part.
