I really admire the author for adopting such a clear and open narrative regarding how the characters identify sexually. I mean, in most confessions, you always get that line—"I'm not gay, but I only like you"—and that kind of storytelling doesn't satisfy me; it makes me feel like one of the characters is denying a part of themselves, as if fully embracing being gay is somehow out of the question for them. So, it felt so refreshing to have Yang Il-woo answer Baek-hee's question with such sincerity and a resounding "yes."
