Seolhyun is female. My theory is when they were young Seolhyun met Hwa and marked him as his mate. Males can’t mark a female but they never said a female can’t mark a male. When Seolhyun marked Hwa it must’ve angered his lycan clan since female lycans are rare. I’m sure they already had plans to have him paired with one of their own pure blood male lycans. So, inorder to severe the mark they tried to kill Hwa but instead he survived with injuries and was hospitalized. Because of this Hwa’s parents found out what was going on and they were ready to go to war with Seolhyun’s family in order to protect their son. However, to avoid casualties both sides came to a compromise which was to severe the mark Seolhyun made on Hwa by erasing both their memories. The lycan clan then lied to Seolhyun that he is male and had him stay with his male lycan brother hoping the male scent will mask Seolhyun’s female sent and hide him from potential pursuers. All while Seolhyun believes his brother is female. Despite all the efforts, they didn’t account for the possibility that a female marking her mate was a strong bond that couldn’t be easily erased by a memory spell. Years later, Seoulhyun and Hwa met again.

Hey. My English is not that good, so please bare with me. I'm responding to the previous commentator's question since I don't have an account and just finished this manga and the prequel. Basically, I think Chouno is relieved. I'm gonna explain why but it's gonna be long and will contain spoilers from the prequel. I will be addressing the two manga as current and prequel. Also, this may be obvious to some readers but I thought they were not that obvious.

First, in the end of chapter 2 of the prequel, we know that Chouno still lingers on in the past because although he has left the past behind, the womb tattoo will always stay. The womb acts as a symbol of his captivity and femininity and a symbol of his freedom. It also serves as a reminder of how controlling his uncle was (I know, not blood-related). I might add that the womb also has a new meaning of strength and masculinity because Chouno looked at the sleeping Hanada (prequel chapter 2) before looking at the womb and deciding not to erase it even now. Remember in Chapter 1 (current manga) when Hanada told Chouno the womb tattoo was masculine, leaving off a good impression on Chouno. He still looked sad, since the tattoo did bring up a traumatic past.

Second, in chapter 6.5, Chouno says to Hanada, 'You have been under the control of a man you do not know.' This may also refer to Chouno himself, who at this point is drawing parallels between him and his uncle, who was once caring. He repeats the same statement his uncle made to him, and I paraphrase, 'Once you've fallen for a women, a man like you will leave me.' Chouno sees himself in Hanada's shoes, thinking that because Hanada is so obedient, Chouno is actually manipulating Hanada like his uncle did to him. Maybe he did not believe Hanada loves him enough, seeing as his uncle eventually stopped loving his mother and started abusing his lover's son. Because he truly wanted to leave his uncle, Chouno thinks that Hanada also would want to leave him one day but can't because Chouno is controlling him, making Hanada depend on him.

These examples and the sad faces Chouno made in the beginning of chapter 6.5 hints at Chouno's growing insecurity, that Hanada will leave him like how he wanted to escape his uncle's clutches or how his uncle abandoned him. This sense of insecurity is also shown in the other two pairings in this manga, but I digress.

Moving on, Hanada cuts Chouno off and says that he listens to Chouno because he is Chouno and not because he is controlling. The person Chouno describes himself as, the controlling person, is someone that Hanada has never met. This brings relief to Chouno, who must have thought he was becoming more and more like his uncle and who thought he was not suitable to be Hanada's partner because he's not an ideal companion or perfect person for Hanako (his womb tattoo and not being a sadist). We see in the last panel, a faceless Chouno hugging Hanada. Because we cannot see his face, but we do see a smiling Hanada, it should be safe to infer that this is the answer Chouno wanted. It is also possible that Chouno is overwhelmed with emotions but do not want to reveal this, hence his hair covering his face and a gentle 'Is that so.'

I do want to note that this sense of insecurity will probably stay with Chouno because he will be reminded of it each time he looks at the tattoo due to his trauma, similar to Suzu-chan and his past. But with all the couples, with time and communication, it will lessen.

On a different note, I do want to digress a bit... I might be a weird person since I like to look at backgrounds a lot. I can't help but notice the room in the last panel in the prequel chapter 2 did not look like Chouno's bedroom since the pillow isn't blue (current chapter 6) nor the anal beads hotel in current chapter 2 since the pillows were facing the desk and not the wall. The only bed left is the second hotel the couple went to in current chapter 2, when Chouno got mad at Hanada and afterward confirmed their relationship. But I might be wrong and this is just another love hotel or a renovated bedroom or just changed of pillows. IDK. Sorry for the mountain of details.

I am feeling confused at the end of chapter 2. Chouno decided to leave the tattoo and look at Hanada while Hanada was sleeping. Is it because he still love stepfather or he will face the past and he will live with his new lover forever? Someone please give me the explain. Thanks

I don't want to think of Kyon and Karis will die and Lucaon and Sihan will get new lovers. It is sad and cruel
