Yeah, I completely get it. But remember, if it’s historical, the age of 16 back then was adult age. Women were getting married as early as 12 in some areas. 13, 14, etc. It’s the writer’s prerogative to write the characters’ romance at whatever (suitable/reasonable) age, but if they want to stick closely to historical times, 16 is an adult. And 24…he’s basically almost middle age. 30? He’s a senior citizen. Anything above 40, you’re grateful that a disease or war hasn’t taken your ass out.
**When I say “your’re” and “your”, I’m not talking about YOU specifically. I’m speaking in general terms.

Pretty much what you said. I mean in those times you were considered an adult when you had your first period. Also it isnt any weirder than those romance books with 2890yo shadow daddies going for the "chosen one". So 24yo is not as bad honestly...

I honestly don’t care if you’re as old as time, as long as your frontal lobe is fully developed and you can think for yourself. Anything else is grooming behavior!

The point we are trying to make is—and NO disrespect and NO offense—it’s doesn’t matter what you think in THIS situation bc how you’re seeing things is from a modern prospective. It isn’t fair and makes no sense for anyone to compare modern dating and relationships with how things were done in the past. Sure, we know NOW in THIS day and age, that a 24 year old being with a 16 year old is disgusting. But back in the PAST, it’s how things were done and was completely acceptable in society. Whether we think it’s wrong doesn’t matter. They’re two completely different moments in time.

Or like a vampire over 100 years old dating a 16/17 year old aka Edward and Bella from Twilight. Nobody raised an eyebrow at that.
Actually, I read the other day about the last confederate widow passing away some time ago and how the fact that she was still living. She should’ve been well into the 100’s. The explanation is bc the woman worked for a 98 year old confederate soldier, taking care of him. She was 14 at the time. He appreciated her so much and wanted to repay her in kind so he marries her so that when he passes away, she’ll get his $74 pension I think it was called. And back during those days, a $74 check every month was a lot of money. But anyway, the point is, nobody bat an eyelash bc it was acceptable during those times.
Something that would be similar is how people used to gather and enjoy and cheer at public executions. To us, now, it’s sick. But not during those days.
She is 16, and apparently a 24year old lion just said “I guess I’d have to seduce her more”
She is 16 (•_•)?
