The mc during the start of story was so independent and idk how to say this but he was like a character who didn't take bs from anyone but now he is getting trampled by work from thesecannoying side characters and also meekly listens to all their bs .... Just why is he being portrayed as someone who is only strong in words but weak in action
Humm, I don't think that's true at all, it's more that he is staying in line, to learn more about the whole situation. I think it shows how intelligent he is in, he knows better that to take action before thinking and really getting what's happening. And you're talking about independence, but he literally use most of the nights to snoop around and learn more the place. About the work, it is established since the beginning that he has a really strong work ethic and that he takes pride in handling whatever we throw at him. And you must remember that this is work, not just his everyday life. I don't think his character his weaker for that, or that he changed ! (=・ω・=)
No I just meant he has mellowed down so much.... At the start he was about money money money and now he is all about getting ml relatives to accept him no matter how much they trample on him and the ml to at the start was so rebellious against his family and now he is merely accepting every bs they throw at him...I want both the mc and ml to start acting strong and rebellious again
I believe this was intentional!
Chanran has made subtle attempts to sound out and change what has been going on, but those didn't work out.
So now, he is taking things more cautiously because his motives have shifted.
Nothing stays the same, and Chanran is like that too. His original motive was undoubtedly money (which he can earn back at anytime), but now he has someone he cares about (his husband) and can no longer afford to act out of line.
Because now, Chairman values his husband a lot more and is willing to play the waitinf game to ensure the best possible outcome for the two of them. At the end of the day, it won't be Chanran suffering from the consequences of irrational actions, but rather his husband. So now, the risks are heavier. (He hasn't let go, he's putting up a front to bide his time as he gradually figures things out)
And honestly, we are learning so much more about the characters. This actually shows us that Chanran isn't JUST someone who can act on his thoughts, but also someone who can make the right call and knows when to do thing to get what he wants. He's an intelligent man despite his cheery personality.
I think that the author is wanting the big conspiracy to be gradually sprinkled about before any big action. I do think action will come, but just not right now (its a bit too early, we, the readers don't even know anything, so what is Chanran supposed to do?)
Sorry for the insane yap
Tldr, the last two paragraphs are the main point

Thank god I read this
