You probably missed it but in chapter 2, when Ban and Shinwi were entering Satellite City B, Ban was narrating the backstory of the place and there was a panel where it showed a young Ban sitting on Ray's lap, indicating that Ray is so much older than Ban. Which is why we're all hating on Ray, he's clearly a groomer.
