noir was just for aesthetics, heavy topics are used for shock value and never sorted out or addressed again and traumas are just for an angsty impact, bc this was never a ''serious'' story like claimed, it was a teenage fantasy ''look its so dark, im so cool''. a angsty noir story where the main villain is an incompetent coward? like its ridiculous when you compare the main villain and the top: jamie (main villain), tailed jo and tried to shoot tj. tj (main top) lied to ian abt saving him and kept the scar to abuse that guilt, flaunted women in front of him yet not let him sleep with others, sent men after him so that he wouldnt have a safe future away from the gang he hated, watched him depressed for years in the gang but just called him gloomy and not helping at all, when ian wanted to leave again he used murder(another trauma) to his advantage to send him to prison for 2 years, didnt let him get his money and even put him in huge debt so that he wouldnt be able to pay when he was out and would eventually have to come back to the gang, kept tailing him and controlling his life and it goes on forever. so how is jamie the villain in this scenario? and why are all those gangsters bad who deserved to die (funny hoe every single one of them that could become a threat died somehow except tj and his circle, everything went smoothly in that stupid plan of turning off the lights) but tj and his besties didnt face any consequences? what makes tj, chiwoon and yangji better than them? what makes jamie worse than tj? tj had shown zero conscience or guilt throughout the story, why should we blame the gang leaders to try to assassinate him when he started it by going to big brothers house at night, killing people and threatening him? and somehow hes saved by everyone left and right: s1 finale by chiwoon, then in the car bombing by jo( ''i owe him'' and nothing happened lol), then finally save by ian. noir punished even good characters, but tj is the only one who got away with everything despite being deranged. destroyed ians dreams an sent him to prison only to be rewarded with a house by the same ian when he is out, turned is exs wedding into a bloody massacre but while she is lying six feet under, he wears a ring living with his obsession, even works with toby who lost her baby because of him. also why was jo even there? if you were to take him out he picture tj and ian had like 20 years to sort things out between them and it took another guy to open their eyes? i wont even start with the plot holes, the initial and repetitive promise about this being a story of growth and all that. i wont bash doyak since theres enough hate already but yikes
