ok so some time ago i read this one manga, it was gl but for the life of me i cannot remember the name. it was about these one girl who had recently moved in a city ?? and was new at school and idk but she was really into fish and this other girl thoguht it was cool and i dont remmeber much else

this is just me being nitpicky because i see it in so many series but why does the victim HAVE to work for forgiveness from their abuser? jintae was and IS being abused by his mother and while the series does somewhat acknowledge that, it ends it with him having to win over his mother when she shouldn’t have access to him at all. maybe this is me expecting too much of a BL but damn it would’ve been more compelling if he cut that woman off
It's an asian culture family thing, most countries in asia value family more than anything and if any conflicts occur between family, most of the time the will be 'you HAVE to forgive them, you're family, you need to be there for each other'. -just my opinion as a Filipino

yeah, i completely get this as someone who comes from a mexican household. family is often put on a pedestal, and there’s an expectation that you’re supposed to forgive, forget, and tolerate things simply because they’re family. i call complete bullshit on those traditionalist views. being related to someone doesn’t automatically excuse their actions or that you owe them forgiveness.
