I mean... They are different people, but the same soul. So the whole soulmates thing should mean that they are meant to be together no matter how their lives turn out. But I do prefer when the immortal falls in love with a different person (not a reincarnation) after a long period of grief.
If you've watched Inuyasha, I love how the whole reincarnation thing is treated there. It perfectly summarises the different people situation.

Yeah (though the endless back in fort between Inuyasha and the fl making me scream)
no cheating, they are in an exclusive relationship with a happy ending. there's angst and drama but also comedic moments. the side stories are bonus content (with well-written au stories as well)
They both had past, but after they start dating, they are loyal to each other. If something does happen, it's from an external party towards them but it doesn't really go anywhere. It has a happy ending.
happy ending though if it’s okay with u the bottom slept a lot with random guy while having feelings with the seme. No cheating since they’re not dating at first.
I always hate the ' in his next life I will love him again trope ' because to me that's two different people
