Oh my god trust me I have tried to like this story I really have, maxi is sweet, beautiful and deserves the world it's sad how people here think, just cuz the main lead came along she can just automatically not be a victim of a use she legit has PTSD and was beaten the day the ml came after three years like what, years of physical and mental abuse is just supposed to be healed without an inch of therapy cuz some dude who raped you long ago came back, which leads me into my problem with this manga and my struggle to like it, Riftan raped her, plain and simple the marriage was forced on both aspects, but he didn't have any issue having sex with her, him saying if you want me to leave just say so is not valid consent considering he fear of not having sex would get her beaten, she simply chose lesser evil, that's like saying either let me torture for decades or have sex with me, of there is an ultimatum and not consent inhibited by outside factors, and her literal face says "oh my god I am scared stop" it's rape especially after him saying "I can't stop anyways" like it's hot you have no self control. This is based on historical settings so I get that back then forced marriages and even sex was the norm, but it doesn't make it any less rape just makes the rape normal, hence why it doesn't happen anymore, thw author wanted love from this act but honestly of you can't do that without their first encounter being scaring the shit out of the FL then what's the point in trying to make the ml different and shit he is the same, just worded differently, trust me I have tried liking it but dudes I just can't, if you like it then I am happy for you, but it's not for me.

But like why was the uke so adamant about apologizing to the seme in chapter 2 when he was assaulted and kept saying no, why is the seme confused, just cuz someone had an erection that isn't consent, like if ya wanna add assault or whatever make it make sense, the.
