something about the depiction of polyamorous people in the recent chapters rubs me the wrong way. i’m not polyamorous myself so forgive and correct me if i say anything incorrect.
i’ve seen this mentality from monogamous people of polyamorous people being noncommittal and unfaithful. the pink bunny is a caricature of all the negative stereotypes of polyamory. its purposefully misrepresenting polyamory by making it seem cartoonishly illogical. him not being able to answer basic questions like “what would you do if your partner loved the other person more” feels more like the author’s one sided projection of their prejudices than an actual nuanced perspective of polyamory.
i admit im not well informed about polyamory either but i have no moral objections if all parties are consenting adults. i certainly wouldn’t go as far as to write an entire sub plot painting it as something only unprincipled people would do. its disappointing to see the author didn’t research polyamorous culture before doing just that
I completely agree! The author could have portrayed polyamory better and focused more on the bunny trying to force his feelings on the brothers.
the panel of gable unconscious on the floor while xinlu took a shower was so rape coded if i can use that term. him trying to sort through his emotions and rationalize why it was okay for xinlu to do that to him is disturbing and mirrors the aftermath of sexual assault in real life

i’m all for the townspeople throwing their little rebellion like go ahead and shoot yourselves in the foot, but realistically what *can* they do? in the unlikely case they take out guwon while he’s sleeping, there’s still a group of hounds coming back eventually. one hound can probably solo half of the town population. i guess we’ll find out in the next chapter how fucked they are
