Yes, In the present, he's not able to protect Thalia and her baby eventually she died too. So for Varkas, Varkas is killed and consumed by khan, he regressed into the past for some things. As for the other spoilers, I won't say it, it wouldn't be fun

This is a brainrot story btw. The main character (MC) dies while the male lead (ML) is somewhere else. When he returns, he is so heartbroken that he lets himself be eaten by the MC’s dog. Because his soul was under a contract that forced him to obey the twins, dying finally sets him free. His soul then merges with the wolf-dog, and he travels back in time as a wolf. He gets to see how badly he treated the MC in the past, and now he is trying to save her. And that’s it. pretty silly if you ask me! Also sometimes he enters his original body and then returns back to the wolf form.
