The whiplash lol, these characters' decisions for figuring each other's feeling is not written in the best way possible. Maybe author-nim is cooking, who knows, judging from Dan's facial expression in the end. Maybe it was just a pity sex thing, but the feeling's all gone. He said it himself, he liked the action in some moments but he never said that he liked JK again or that feeling of liking him returned.
Heeryang was expecting it from the start. He'd imagine an angrier, vitriolic reaction to the point of more than wishing him to death. Some acting would've been nice, wouldn't it? A cry here and there, some screams fo Yeonjeo. But no, he kept too suspiciously composed!
I can already guess that somewhere in the story, our MC will re-encounter the heroes who died in the first chapter. Some weird magic thing inserted into the plot that wasn't technically foreshadowed, only for the sake of the plot. And those heroes also did what our MC did, but more on preparation for him and what he'll become.
