There was another mimic demon, maybe in a different forest- but MC and ML are two separate people of the same species that have to follow the same rules to survive. I think MC was just younger, or maybe once you become the person who you are mimicking, you forget who you were before.

Considering the three guys still thought it was a woman in the Palanquin, even after the Imugi yelled out, I’m assuming the voice is different when it’s in the woman’s form.
