I understand why it could come off that way, as seonwoos bakctsory wasn’t explained in detail. Seonwoo (mc) moved elementary schools 7 times and middle schools 3 times due to his father being in the military. So every time he would make close friends, the second they were about to deepen the bond, he would have to move schools. Because of this, seonwoo didn’t understand peer culture. During first year high school (second semester to first few months of second year, total 8 months) he was ostracised. So he literally did not have the experience to understand; thus, whenever suwon acted weirdly, he would brush it off. Also because he was incredibly lonely and craved companionship (normal as he’s literally been traumatised and abandoned) he genuinely wanted to believe someone (ML) liked him for him. So although he is canonically quick witted, that’s why he can come off as naive ヾ(☆▽☆)
