the last chapter is so fucking disgusting, it made me cry and rethink everything I have ever read. we as readers always talk about how problematic some works are and still forgive a lot to be able to read bl. I have seen lists of green flag tops and I always disagree because they at some point do force the bottoms, saying they are not able to stop or control themselves, ignoring the bottom’s discomfort. the only green flag top I know is from “one room TA”, and even there not everyone is safe. I don’t know anymore. guess I should read smutless stuff and shut the hell up. I’m hypocritical for consuming it and disagreeing. my morals are weak in front of my desire for fun, but nothing will ever change if the audience doesn’t act like their opinions. if everyone hates rape content, why is it everywhere? because even hating that part, the rest of the story was fun, right? so it’s okay! but actually, is it? today I’m thinking more clearly, but tomorrow I can’t guarantee I’ll be the difference I want to see. I guess I’m sick

1. the obvious: the bottom asking to stop and the top not listening;
2. the whole “raising him” situation. I understand that he is not human, he is not a child, he is a dragon and therefore born like an adult, but fuck, he said that Taehyuk was like a father to him and that was hard to swallow;
3. I hated that Taehyuk cut his brother out of his life. I know he made mistakes and he admits that, it was an unhealthy obsession, but in the new life he wasn’t imposing it anymore. Maybe because it took me a long time between chapters I forgot crimes that he committed in the new life, if yes, please let me know. But if not, can’t he have character development? In the yaoi world, characters like Taeju from Low Tide in Twilight can “turn into a green flag” in the public eye, a literal rapist, but a brother who would try to kill himself just to see if Taehyuk would care can’t evolve? I’m not saying he is right. Maybe the author really wanted us to hate him and create a sub-narrative that, if he wasn’t Taehyuk’s brother, he would try to be his lover or whatever to fulfill his obsession. But they could have had a better ending. The whole family could have had a redemption by going to the wedding. It’s fiction, so it’s fine, but I couldn’t avoid thinking about how relationships built on isolation can mess people up. But again, it’s fiction, the romance is with a dragon, for fuck’s sake.
3. Yeah, 300 years in cycle is a torture and they even got to be real brothers in this era, a family and it's quite sad to see him like that, he's wrong but He lived long enough to atone it
I thought about dropping it too and did at chapter 71 bc fuck it's just too dull and predictable. Basically read it out of spite hoping it'd get better.
I hate the trope of bottom asking to stop and top not listening. And what pissed me off when bottom went for it and top said to stop and it stopped... :/
that’s why I like dominant bottoms. they might be toxic sometimes, but there’s no asking to stop being ignored there.
actually, thinking about it, I hate when the bottom runs out of stamina while the top is just fine, and in stories where the bottom has a lot of stamina, the top is the one who runs out. why can’t they both freak out or both get tired? it would avoid a lot of dub-con territory
