The "instinct taking over" situation seems like an attempt to make Azusa the hero of the day, but honestly it backfired because he did the same thing to Kaede while not under heat influence whatsoever. Bitch's so full of himself that he was wearing his mark like a badge of honor, and the moment he realized his "possession" was on a risk of being taken away by the "rightful owner" he just lost his shit. While I don't want Kaede to suffer anymore because of the bs alpha instinct, I kinda wish him and Hikari become a pair instead of them literally going back to their sexual perpetrator.

Right when it was about to flip a switch: Mine slowly becoming the pivot of the relationship instead of Hiroi, Take unconciously becoming awared of his feeling and Hiroi slowly having a taste of his own medicine, then boom, the story ended. Author even forcefed me some nonsense post-timeskip lovey dovey extras instead of properly untangling the mess.

Hiroi basically forced himself onto Take and Mine lives, devoured their senses individuality, and got away with it.
