We know that those mentioned manhwas became so popular not only because of how well drawn the characters are but because of how toxic the story is and the plot is basically a cycle of SA and suffering of the uke/bottom. Some readers say, it's to a point where SA and grape is romanticize, becoming a part of the plot just to emphasize the top is a literal red flag/toxic. But knowing all this, I think it's also important to note that those toxicity in relationship is a part of the dating industry in Korea, yes there's that but... as manhwas (let it be BL, GL, and straight ones) becomes more popular, these types of things being included in plots won't go anywhere soon and it might stay like that because that's what the author and their company sees trendy and popular to the audience.
