Lots manhwas and mangas have so much potential, so much tension, and god damn good drawing, my only complaint is the rape, non-con, everything that's just inhumane in the relationship, I mean I get it, angst and all that, but I just can't with rape and then the victim forgiving and staying in the relationship??? Fuck that shit. There's so much concepts you can put into the story to make it interesting like reverse isekai or something but rape??? really??? Im also concerned since we don't know who's reading the story, what if minors are reading these and think that rape is OK??? as a society we're already declining, collapsing, and we add the normalisation of rape and non con, yeah yeah im not the target audience but i still can't tolerate rape!
I've noticed this in most of the yaoi and straight josei and I hope that authors [edit] will not normalise rape just for the sake of angst, arc, story development, kink or what. Unless it's stated in the prologue that there's consent and that rape is the kink and the partner organized the rape shit or whatever.
Edit: I am complaining, im not hating, im just suggesting because the potential is already there, the art is already top notch, stories we put out there influences people consciously or unconsciously and im sure we can ask AI for more ideas instead of resorting rape, SA, non con elements. If you dont agree with me its fine just goes to show we have different set of beliefs.
I love how seamlessly the story unfolds. The transitions between events feel so natural. Its not clunky and forced so props to the author. I also like the fact that we’re not being force fed and we’re left to process things on our own. To the translators, I especially appreciate post chapter notes, like parallels and fan service (those muscles are especially yum)z
That said, I’m disappointed with how little time we got to spend with the Emperor and Ryu Hwa. I wish their story were given more screentime, so we could have seen more of them together and explored their relationship more deeply.
There’s so many heartbreaking parts for me, and i need a pause to process it..
Given the circumstances and the powerstruggle i understand why. Its just tragic to watch characters suffer in ways that make sense for the story, yet i still wish they could have been spared some of that suffering.
Im not sure if Ill be able to move on from this story. As a degenerate and a pervert, I didn’t yearn for sexual intimacy between characters. What was lacking though was the sexual tension which youd normally feel in typical manhwas. But this is golden and again props to the author and the artist because there’s more to the story than just sex, and beyond sex there’s more to explore about the characters psyche.
Its lengthy but i need to process it and i have no one to talk to about this story (⌒▽⌒)
