I feel like the seme had potential to be so wholesome, cute and caring. But NOOOOO, he always has to choose the worst possible decisions when it comes to treating his uke. So obviously the uke is gonna expect the worst from you, even when you have the best intentions. Such a waste. Waste, I tell you! Waste of two devilishly hot and handsome faces and their precious time, as we all know they're gonna end up together anyway - but now, only after a nice, long, most likely half-assed redemption arc.
A shit ton of rape. I'm waiting for the part where, once again, there is something else that makes up the plot, aside from constant assault. True, we are getting a tiny look into both of their personalities in this batshit crazy situation, but it still feels so minimal. I just wanna know them, and see that sweet sweet character development. Zhenya's softening up, sure, but I feel like we're still so far from anything remotely close to emotional intelligence or stability. Can't believe I just put Zhenya and stability in the same sentence. I'm asking for too much, aren't I? They are still hot as ever, though. I guess this is the suffering arc we need to go through? Like a rite of passage or something??
A liiiittle bit of a rushed love at first sight. I mean, we only see the seme come up to uke and confess, nothing before, or explained after. I guess it makes sense for uke to respond and reciprocate, since it feels freeing to fight against the norms that have been ruling over his life, especially towards someone who apparently holds such strong feelings towards him. However, it's still fully just lust, and begs the question of whether it's truly possible for the desire to be this intense, solely because you saw someone pretty at a party, or solely because someone at a party said they just fell in love with you.
Maybe the intensity kind of works because we see that neither of them is a perfect character, probably more on the negative side of the spectrum, I would say. The insecurity is to be expected, but the strangling and shady business with human trafficking... Certainly gives them a darker side, without which the story would feel wishy-washy. However with it included, it gives me the biggest ick, and I'm still unsure if that was really the only way to go about giving the characters some depth.

Meh. I don't think it's quite reaching the depth it is trying to. Pretty plain or nonsensical at times, but ok. It's kind of a shame for the pretty faces.
