this is prolly the first time reader’s called out an author on smth and they actually complied w/o making a fuss like why do people forget these white people have literally destroyed lives, killed people, tortured them to the ends of earth and still think it’s okay to romanticise a relationship between one. i really hope going forward, we can call out authors when they publish stories that got problematic plots.

There were alot of true stories about nazi and jews love story about native Americans and white people and there were even some movies but all these true stories ended in a big tragedy so it's like this kind of love story is impossible
Mostly it's just sensitive that trigger some people
I'm personally against author canceling it
It's just movies are for adults and manhwa is for kids so they have lower tolerance and can't see the story from critical eye and handle it
Tbh I didn’t understand for a good minute why this was problematic until i read this was about native american x white, that’s just not it especially coming from a person of a country that was once colonised as well. Ik at the end of the day it’s fiction and wtv but if everytime somone remembers black people or natives (be it from any country really) for slavery thats just not it and using this sensitive topic and romanticising sorta reduces the blow of things people went through in the past. Especially hated the fact that white people have been colonising and torturing people for hundreds of years only to be shown as protagonists and pairing w somone they voluntarily oppressed.
Fully agree with this btw. The whole plot from the get go was insensitive. We have tons of media that represent what happened to the slaves and natives here in America, and the thing about them is that they’re mostly accurate 90% of the time. Author didn’t do proper research and tried to make it into some weird historical romance with the lead being the white knight for buying out all the slaves and some other bullshit. I bet you they wouldn’t even WRITE a story with a native or black mc/ml without writing it wrong. I understand that theyre Korean and live in South Korea, but some others need to step up their game when it comes to other races. I know damn well there are brown or black people in South Korea, whether they’re mixed, citizens or even tourists. They admitted to their mistakes which is good and canceled the series. With proper research, we could’ve had gold.
